How to Play Online Poker

During the game of poker, the player who has the highest hand wins the pot. The game of poker is played with a standard pack of 52 cards. Each player is given five cards to start the game. Each player can either call, raise, or pass. If no one calls, the betting continues until everyone calls.

The betting goes clockwise. The dealer deals out cards to each player. The cards are dealt face up. After the cards are dealt, the player on the left can discard all or some of his or her cards to improve the hand. Then, the next player is dealt.

The player with the highest card wins the pot if the hand is a three of a kind. A four of a kind is better than a three of a kind. The high card breaks ties when there are multiple people who have the same high card.

The highest straight wins when five cards of the same suit are used. The lowest straight is a 5-4-3-2-A. A straight is not valid if it wraps around. The Royal Flush is a straight with an ace as the top card.

The highest three of a kind is three kings. The second highest pair is two kings. The fourth highest hand is three jacks.

The fifth card can be anything. If the last card is an ace, the player can discard up to three other cards. The player can also choose not to discard any cards.
